ARP WVS badge

This badge was worn by a member of the Women’s Voluntary Service. Among other duties, “the WVS” (as they were usually known) ran mobile canteens for the troops, for civilian emergency services etc. and provided clothing and other assistance for bombed-out families. The badge is made of chromium-plated metal and is attached to the clothing by means of a pin.
