TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT.
1. The Committee reserve the right to refuse Committee labour to any farmer failing to sign the attached form, or who fails to comply with the following conditions.
2. All workers are the employees of this Committee. In no circumstances may farmers give permission to workers to take leave or otherwise be absent from their work.
3. Committee labour may be hired by farmers by the day and the normal working hours are:-
MEN 7.20 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, 7.20 a.m. to 12 noon Saturdays.
WOMEN 8.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, 8.00 a.m. to 12 noon Saturdays.
One hour is allowed for the mid-day meal.
In exceptional cases variation in the working hours may be arranged.
A Special Weekly Rate will be charged if a farmer signs an agreement to provide 48 hours regular employment to a specific worker in any working week. Details may be obtained from Foremen.
4. Any excess over the working hours specified above will be charged as overtime which is reckoned in hours.
5. No reduction in the daily charge will be allowed for short hours uless the procedure laid down in paragraph 6 hereunder is rigidly observed.
6. Any complaint regarding short hours should be made to the Foreman the same day as the offence occurs. All complaints reported should be confirmed in writing with the Work Certificate, giving full details of the complaint.
7. Provided the Foreman considers field work is possible or likely to be possible for any part of the day the workers will report to the farm and the farmer will be charged the full daily charge. Bookings may only be cancelled in bad weather by farmers, provided the Foreman is notified not later than 7 a.m. on the day for which the labour is booked.
8. Workers are expected to cycle a distance of up to four miles to and from their work, reporting on the farm at the times specified in paragraph 3.
9. Farmers are requested to provide facilities for hot drinks and reasonable accommodation during wet periods and the mid-day break.
10. Workers are paid full wages and overtime by the Committee and farmers will be charged for hire at the rates specified below. Any payments made direct to workers by farmers are not recognised by the Committee.
11. This Committee accepts no respinsibility for any claims by the workers in respect of accidents or injuries excepta such as may be made under the Workmen's Compensation Act. Farmers should cover by Insurance any liability which may arise due to the negligence of themselves or their servants.

DAY RATES, MEN
Weekdays: 19 shillings per 8-hour 40-minute day.
Saturdays: 9 shillings and 6 pence per 4-hour 20-minute day.
DAY RATES, WOMEN
Weekdays: 14 shillings per 8-hour day.
Saturdays: 7 shillings and 6 pence per 4-hour day.
OVERTIME, MEN
Weekdays: 2 shillings and 4 pence per hour.
Saturday afternoons, Sundays, holidays: 2 shillings and 10 pence per hour.
OVERTIME, WOMEN
Weekdays: 1 shilling and 9 pence per hour.
Saturday afternoons, Sundays, holidays: 2 shillings and 2 pence per hour.
