Royal Canadian Air Force ground crew prepare an Easter egg destined for a target in Germany. This present of deadly high explosive commemorated Tiger Squadrons 2,000th sortie.
Between 1942 and 1946 Skipton-on-Swale was home to two RCAF squadrons, 424 (Tiger) and 433 (Porcupine). Canadian airmen were familiar figures in and around Thirsk throughout this time.
