The following pictures are taken from the book “Around Thirsk: A Second Selection”, written by our curator Mr. Cooper Harding. The book features about two hundred photographs, many of which have been carefully restored for publication. Each one is accompanied by a detailed description, creating a fascinating record of the changes in costume and custom, transport and trading, and sport and entertainment.
